Blog 9: Changes To My Study Programme

Hello everyone, today I will talk about the changes I would like to make to the social work curriculum. I'm not sure what I would like to write about this topic, as I've never thought about what things I would like to change or modify of this program itself. Now by referring to the infrastructure of the FACSO building I think there are many things I would like to change. I consider the classrooms to be small for the number of students we are. The times we have had classes in those classrooms we are always very cramped and uncomfortable, besides in the summer the classrooms are very hot and usually the air conditioning does not work well. I think the classrooms of the "aularios" are much better, they are much more spacious, and the classroom infrastructure is much better. Another point I could criticize about FACSO's infrastructure is that we don't have a casino. We have a coffe shop that has a couple of microwaves and a couple of tables and chairs, however, it is quite small and when we want to buy lunch we must go to philosophy or ICEI.
Another thing I would like to see modified has not to do with mesh and career subjects itself, but about CFG. Currently it is very difficult to have access to the CFG, in my case I have been postulating 2 semesters and the 2 times I have been rejected. I think you should be able to take the CFG you want whenever you want. Anyway, those would be the things I think would change.

Blog 8: Personal Opinions.

Hello everyone, in today's blog I will talk about four topics, the first is the legalization of abortion in some cases. The truth is that I do not agree that abortion is legalized in only three cases, I believe that abortion should be free and legal. Times have progressed, although there are still many things to achieve, women are becoming more empowered, and I think they should have the right to decide about their motherhood. Second, I will talk about violence on television. I think violence is too normalized in all kinds of television broadcast programs, only in some programs certain types of violence are more explicit than others, such as police programs. However, in programs such as the so-called "farándula", it is also possible to demonstrate other types of violence and violations of people's privacy and their physical and mental integration. Thirdly, I will speak about the "mechoneo" and approach it from my personal experience. Before entering social work at this university, I was in Kinesiology at the Diego Portales University and there I suffered the famous mechoneo. At first, I was unable to assess how violent and degrading that process was, however, over time I realized that it is a practice that undermines the integrity and dignity of students and even threatens their safety, so it should no longer to be made. Finally, I will talk about tattoos. Both my mother and father have tattoos, so I have always seen them as normal something, I think they are nice, and people should not be discriminated against for having them. Sometimes it seems incredible to me that in the XXI century there are people who continue to discriminate against others, for example, when they want to access a job, for the fact of having visible tattoos, as if that took away the ability to do that a good job . But hey, I suppose there are many things that society is not yet capable of normalizing.

Blog 7: Animated Disney/Pixar Character.

jim hawkins | TumblrHello everyone, today I'm going to talk about my favorite Disney character. The truth is that I consider myself a big fan of Disney movies and cartoons in general, I have a lot of fun watching these kinds of movies with my little sisters. It was very difficult to choose a single character since there are many that I like, however, I will choose a character from my favorite movie, which is the treasure planet. This movie is one of those Disney movies that are not widely recognized, and I think it should be. Anyway, my favorite character is the protagonist of this movie, Jim Hawkins. Jim is a rebellious teenager, who likes adventure and going against the rules. He is categorized as the typical problem child, from whom not much is expected and who is thought to have no future. However, once he embarks on the adventure of finding the treasure planet, he meets a cyborg who helps him with his confidence and self-esteem, showing him that with his character and courage he can achieve great things. What I like most about this character is that he manages to turn his destiny and demonstrate that he could achieve great things despite the fact that he had many things against him, in addition to having a strong character and he was not intimidated by what others believed and they said of him.

Blog 6: Postgraduate Studies.

Hello everyone, today I will talk about whether I would like to do a postgraduate or not. I have thought about the continuity of my studies, however, it is not something that I really care about now. I have realized over time that I am not a person who is characterized by thinking a lot about the long-term future, since many of the times I have projected myself in relation to some things in my life, and these have not turned out as I expected. Anyway, I think I would still like to do a postgraduate degree that may be related to gender perspectives. The gender perspective studies the cultural and social constructions proper to women and men, which identifies the feminine and the masculine against the background of inequality between genders in all social classes and is a theme that from my point of view every It is becoming more important in contemporary society and it is interesting to see how these topics that perhaps a couple of years ago were not talked about so much today are on the table.

The truth is that I don't really care where I can do this postgraduate, if I had the opportunity to go abroad I would go, so I could interact with people from other parts of the world and I could meet different perspectives on the subject, however, if the opportunity arises to do this postgraduate in Chile I think I would also accept it.

Blog 5: My Future Job.

Today I will talk about the job that I would like to have in the future. I am currently a sophomore in social work, and I am working at Happyland, however this is a temporary job. The truth is that I still do not have in mind a specific place where I would like to work, it is something to which I have not yet given much importance, but I must say that I must work in some area that is related to childhood. I really like children, I am the eldest of my sisters and my cousins, also in my current job, I interact with children and for me it is pleasant, I have a good relationship with them.
Although it is very different, I would also like to work in the prison area, especially with women deprived of liberty.
Really, the salary is not something that is too relevant for me now, I suppose that when I grow up it will be more important.
If my future job allows me to travel to other places, I suppose it would not bother me, however I would rather travel for recreational reasons instead of work reasons.
At the moment I aspire to be a good professional in the future, to find a good job where I can help and can contribute beyond palliative solutions.

Blog 4: Books.

Tengo miedo Torero - Pedro Lemebel | Planeta de Libros
Today I will talk about a book that I had to read at school when I was in the fourth grade. This book is called “Tengo miedo torero” and was written by Pedro Lemebel. The story is set in Chile in 1986 and deals with various topics such as homosexuality, the attack on Augusto Pinochet, inequality in Chile, among others. Its main characters are "La loca del Frente", a homosexual older than 40 with few resources and Carlos, a university student and member of the patriotic front Manuel Rodríguez. La loca del frente helps Carlos, not knowing what his plans are and, as the story progresses, a romantic relationship develops between them. I think that the topics covered in this book are not usually covered much in schools, that is why I liked this book since it is not like the common books that one usually read in school, teachers generally choose more classic and boring books, however this was the exception. I found this book very interesting and entertaining; it gave us another look at these issues and allowed us to develop a more critical vision. I honestly think it is a good book.

Blog 3: Movies and Series.

Today I will to talk about an anime series called Psycho-Pass. This serie premiered in 2014, and its directors were Naoyoshi Shiotani y Kiyotaka Suzuki. The series is set in a futuristic Japan, where it is intended to achieve a perfect society. For this, a system called Sibyl controls various aspects of people's lives, including control of people's mental state and personality thanks to a psycho-somatic scanner denominated psycho-pass. The protagonist of the serie Akane Tsunemori (inspector) and Shinya Kōgami (executor) are agents of the Division Unit of the Office of Public Security and Criminal Investigation, the equivalent of the current police, and they are in charge of arresting or executing all those people who for the system are considered “criminals”. The interesting thing about this story is that constantly makes you question the ethical and moral values of this idea of a perfect society, and that is also reflected in its characters who experience various situations that often make them question the operation of the system. During history philosophical themes are also raised and that is why it seems to me a good series. Although not everyone likes anime, it is a series that I recommend and that I feel is worth watching.

BLOG 2: BEST HOLIDAYS/CONCERT EVER.

In the blog today, I will talk to the best vacations I remember. In February 2019, I went on vacations with my mom and my two little sisters to San Pedro de Atacama. My uncles live in this town, so we stayed at his house. We were in this place for a week. San Pedro de Atacama is very recognized for the beautiful tourist places that surround it. We had the opportunity to visit several of them as an example the valley of the moon, the Cejar lagoon, the eyes of the salar, the tebinquiche lagoon, the Tatio geysers and other places.

These have been one of the best vacations I remember, because I was able to spend time with my family, with my uncles, that I see them very few times a year. I also had the opportunity to take advantage of the time with my mom and my sisters. We also had the opportunity to visit beautiful places together and to treasure beautiful memories and experiences. I hope that in the future we can return, since we lacked many places to visit.

A country I'd like to visit. (blog 1)

I would like to visit many countries, mainly for its beautiful landscapes, for its history and for its culture, however, if I must to choose one, I would like to visit Brazil, because for me it has an emotional meaning.

My grandfather lived a long time in this country, which is the largest of south America, because after the military dictatorship in Chile for economic and political problems, he must leave of the country. He had to travel for many countries, but I think Brazil it was important for him, since he always told me stories of his experiences there. I would like to know the landscapes in this country, especially its beaches and the amazon, moreover, Brazil is characterized by having many tourist attractions,
and I would like visit the country because I feel which is an interesting way to connect me with part of the story of my grandfather, who passed away three years ago and was a very important person in my life.

Blog 5 (A photograph. Its story.)

This picture is from when I was about 4 years old. In it I am accompanied by my mother and we were in the Maipo drawer, in an outing we did one day to meet new places and get out of the routine. This photo is important to me because it represents the unity we have with my mother. In my life, my mother is a very important person since she is the one who supports me and unconditionally motivates me to move on, she is my counselor and more than my mother is also my friend. I fully trust her, and I know that, regardless of anything, she will always give me her support. We love going out together and this photo is a symbol of it. This photo for me represents the beginning of our outings, not because we have not left before, but because at this age I already had some more awareness (although very little) and although we currently do not have so much time to make these outings, either by the work of both or my studies, Every time the opportunity presents itself, we take advantage of it. This woman really means a lot to me and she has all my admiration because she's really cool and hardworking. I really love her very much and she is one of the most important people in my life, I can't imagine life without her so I am very grateful that she is my mother.

Blog 4 (Free Post)

I will dedicate this blog to a topic that I like very much, which is makeup. Approximately since I was 17 I started to get into the world of makeup. At first I only liked the eyeliner and mascara, but as time went by I added more products to my daily routine. When I started using eye shadows, I only liked light shades, but as time has passed I have varied in colors, even occupying darker or stronger colors. I like to play with colors and designs and try to change them day by day. Something I like about makeup is that nowadays whoever it is can use it and that people are daring to try and innovate. Finally and following the line of innovation, it is not yet entirely several brands of the cosmetic industry today are cruelty free what I think is a very good initiative.
