Blog 8: Personal Opinions.

Hello everyone, in today's blog I will talk about four topics, the first is the legalization of abortion in some cases. The truth is that I do not agree that abortion is legalized in only three cases, I believe that abortion should be free and legal. Times have progressed, although there are still many things to achieve, women are becoming more empowered, and I think they should have the right to decide about their motherhood. Second, I will talk about violence on television. I think violence is too normalized in all kinds of television broadcast programs, only in some programs certain types of violence are more explicit than others, such as police programs. However, in programs such as the so-called "farándula", it is also possible to demonstrate other types of violence and violations of people's privacy and their physical and mental integration. Thirdly, I will speak about the "mechoneo" and approach it from my personal experience. Before entering social work at this university, I was in Kinesiology at the Diego Portales University and there I suffered the famous mechoneo. At first, I was unable to assess how violent and degrading that process was, however, over time I realized that it is a practice that undermines the integrity and dignity of students and even threatens their safety, so it should no longer to be made. Finally, I will talk about tattoos. Both my mother and father have tattoos, so I have always seen them as normal something, I think they are nice, and people should not be discriminated against for having them. Sometimes it seems incredible to me that in the XXI century there are people who continue to discriminate against others, for example, when they want to access a job, for the fact of having visible tattoos, as if that took away the ability to do that a good job . But hey, I suppose there are many things that society is not yet capable of normalizing.
